1967 Clarkson BS ChE
1968 Northwestern MS ChE
Worked 45 years for 10 companies, fired twice, employee of year once
Then tried long haul truck driving for 3 weeks, didn't work out
Then 4 more years part time in validation engineering (pharmaceuticals)
also taught PLC ladder logic lab (nights) at Stevens Institute for 7 years
Fondest memories of Potsdam:
boonies, vic parties, beer blasts, $1 pitchers of beer 3rd one free,
hell week especially as a pledge, pledge initiation night, Clarkson Rangers TSRB
says "front-to-rear-disappear" - "sir request permission to speak sir" - "sir I think
I'm bleeding sir" and I'm in the Potsdam hospital overnight.
Proudest accomplishment at Clarkson: being counseled by Lynn's big brother for excessive drinking
Greatest accomplishment since graduation: being charged with conspiracy to murder the President of our Condominium Board of Directors
Bucket List top item: suing Condo Board pro se (without an attorney) over violation of freedom-of-speech.
Extracts from my letters to Micki:
4:15 AM, Oct 1965: "We just put the pledges to bed and I'm staying up so they don't pull a raid. They sleep on the downstairs floor... I loaned a blanket to Pete Shafer for 15 pushups but he was so tired he could only do 4 push-ups and one situp so I gave him the blanket anyway... We ran out of beer today & the beer man doesn't come until tomorrow. Gary Lewis has 28 beers already since Monday. He's gonna beat Feisingers record no sweat."
April 19, 1966: "This afternoon the sun was shining real bright so I went out on the roof to take a nap I was just dosing off when some bastardly _____ _____ threw a bucket of water on my poor back from the bunk room. I assume it was a pledge and there was only one pledge in the house at the time and I couldn't proove anything but I gave him 20 push-ups anyway."
May 7, 1966: "There's a shit session scheduled for 12:00 tonight but the pledges beat us to the draw and took Hollis and Lance on rides already... We caught 2 pledges and brought them down here to make them tell where they took Hollis but John Ebanga climbed out the bathroom window so now we only have one and he's been doing push-ups, sit-ups, running in place and drinking water until he tells us where they took Brannon."
May 10, 1966: "Last night, Charles Faust, the fire marshall, decided to have a fire drill in the middle of the night while everyone was sleeping. So, at least they tell me, the alarm went off and the bells were ringing and everyone got up and went outside except me. They tried to get me up but I wouldn't get up. I can't remember too much. ...We got a Thermo test back today. I got an F and so did 41 others. Only 6 passed so we're having another test Thursday"
Sept. 15, 1966: It is really funny to see 17 pedges lined up in the yard doing push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, wind-mills and dying cock-roach together in unison... I can hardley talk, my voice has nearly worn out from yelling.
Jan. 12, 1967: "we finally broke our record of being undefeated in 4 games. We lost to DU last night 5-0. They are out of our class. I only touched the puck twice during the game. Hutch was spectacular though., it could have been 40-0. He even stopped a slap shot with his face. Luckily he had a mask on, which got broke, but he still got knocked out and today his nose is a little swollen."

One thing you wish you knew: I think the optimum degree is the BS. After that you have enough background knowledge and it's time to start learning on-the-job. No sense learning more things that you will never use.
Career: The 1st third of my career was in Control Systems Engineering, 2nd third was in PLC and C programming and the final third was pharmaceutical validation.
