No kids or grandkids
Lots of nieces and nephews. One just got out of jail.
My significant other- Sue, put up with a lot, but she loves me.
Love animals - mammals, birds, reptiles. They are all Gods creatures trying to make a living. I bought a pet parrot a few years ago after reaching a compromise with Sue about animals in the house (I wanted a dog). Great bird - we bonded. Two years Sue said, "It's either me or the bird." I asked her to give me the weekend to think about it. I finally decided in her favor and gave the bird away. I still have visiting rights.
Started out ChE. After flunking out I came back as a CE. Worked out.
Advanced degree: MSCE 1976 Northeastern Univ.
Career: Mostly wastewater engineering. Some roads and bridges.
I started in Syracuse in 1969 working for a small consulting firm - Barton, Brown, Clyde & Loguidice. In 1972 I went to work for Metcalf & Eddy in Boston. Spent 80-82 with the firm in Chicago. Came back to Boston and worked for Universal Engineering Corporation, then Guertin, Elkerton & Associates. Sold the firm then helped Colleen Moore bild her business - City Point Partners.
Retired, yes. 7 months/year in Fort Meyers, 5 months in Waltham, Mass. We live in a golf and tennis community. I am equally inept at both sports. We love it here.
Most interesting job: Managed the design and construction of the Narragansett Bay Commissions Fields Point Wastgewater Treatment Plant serving city of Providence and surounding communities. Great client, great project. Very much enjoyed my last 5 years working with Colleen Moore.
Lived since graduation: Syracuse, Boston, Chicago, Fort Meyers
Most interesting plsace visited: many places-Europe, Egypt, Southeast Asia, Panama Canal. I'll mention Notre Dame - magnificent tribute to man and God (Note: I am not a religiousd person - just amazed at the monuments built by the different religions). I am hopeful that ND can be fully restored. Also, Normandy, WWI battlefields. Civil War battlefields, Panama Canal. Oh, and Hawaii is a very good take.
Greatest accomplishment: There are so many, but at the moment I cannot recall any.
I wish I had been a better student (I did make the dean's list 2 of 4 semisters when I came back). If I were to do it over again I would have much more interested in the courses and been much more diligent and interested in my studies. Of course in this point in my life I do not have raging hormones circulating throughout my body.
Favorite memory: I have many. It was so much fun being part of the organization. My favorite year was senior year when I lived in the house; slept in a room with 25 other guys; shared one shower that didn't flow when someone was doing laundry; and of course, had first crack at Mrs. Lomis's homemade donuts.
Hobbies: Reading, traveling, golf, napping, scotch.
News event: Assassination of John Kennedy. I was in calculus class in the Snell hall Annex when the college radio DJ came out of the studio, and announced the President has been shot. Our Prof would not excuse our class. Ran over to Lewis House after class and crouded around the teletype a the newsroom. I was in the ROTC color guard on Monday at a ceremony on the front steps at Snell. Most students left early for Thanksgiving.
Friend would like to see: Every one of them.
Health issues: Thanks for asking. I'm in good health.
Anythig wlse in these past 52 years: Nothing to add at the moment. It sure went by in a hurry.
