Frederic (Rick) Pollard

I spent 20 years with Hercules Incorporated working in the magnetic iron oxide industry for magnetic tapes with 10 years at Pulaski Virginia, 6 years in Kobe, Japan and 9 years in Wilmington, Delaware. As the head of this division, I organized a management buyout and after growing the business for 3 years, I sold it to a Japanese company and retired at 51 years old.
My wife, Cath, was a student at St. Lawrence University in Canton; we have one surviving son who graduated from Clarkson along with his wife to be. They have 3 engineering children, 2 of whom also graduated from Clarkson, and the third is currently at RPI.
During retirement I lived on St. Croix island for 22 years in the Caribbean and sailed the islands for 12 years. I currently live in an upscale retirement community .
